So I was glad that I stuck with it in the end despite the fact that the characters did switch voices periodically. BUT that being said, later in the novel he did slow down a bit and also got into some fun voices which I enjoyed. His tendency to speed read was so irritating! I wondered if someone was standing behind him with a whip urging him to read faster and faster! One other reviewer said he sounded like he should be doing safety videos and I concur! That's exactly what a lot of his reading reminded me of. He writes science fiction and horror fiction novels. I still really enjoyed this story! It's exciting throughout! But I did not care for this narrator at all. It is the second chapter of Meg’s novel series which is written by Steve Alten. In April 2021, Statham said that he believed that filming would begin in January 2022. British director Ben Wheatley signed on to direct. I stumbled on the audiobooks and thought I'd give them a try for something different. In his September 2020 newsletter, Steve Alten confirmed the script, titled Meg 2: The Trench, was complete, and expressed interest in its 'dark' tone. Now, in The Trench, Alten shows just how deep fear can run when you don’t know what lurks beneath the surface. The Trench takes us into the zone of the unknown and the primal. Master of suspense Steve Alten always takes readers to the edge with his non-stop, adrenaline-charged novels. I'd read this book years ago and loved it! Then recently decided to read it again with the new MEG movie finally in production. Steve Alten once again unleashes the power of the MEG in a new heart-stopping thriller. Loved the story but the narrator wasn't my favorite
